How to join the LVTA

JOINING THE LONDON VINTAGE TAXI ASSOCIATION

We warmly welcome new members into the Association. Our membership is divided into three sections, covering different parts of the world.

The UK/Rest of World Section
is for people living in the UK and elsewhere in the world outside of the American continent and mainland Europe/Euro zone

The Dutch Section
administers all members living in mainland European/Euro zone countries

The American Section
administers all members living on the American continent

Benefits of membership include:

• A glossy bi-monthly A5 magazine, 'Vintage Taxi'
• Technical advice for all makes of London taxi, from the early 1930s to the present day
• The opportunity to advertise free of charge in the magazine
• The opportunity to purchase taxi-related items such as books, badges, CD-Roms and scale models
• Liaison with other members worldwide (subject to any local data protection legislation)
• Notification of changes in legislation affecting historic vehicles

UK members receive:

• Access to events in the UK that the Association organise, ensuring a truly social gathering of members and their families, together with the chance to view some rare specimens from around the ranks
• Notification of other relevant events
• Assistance with vehicle insurance

The strength of the LVTA comes from the whole membership, so we invite our members to provide some input where they can. We encourage members to:

• Write articles and or letters for the magazine
• Provide photos of their preserved taxicabs for the magazine
• Share technical knowledge and skills with other members
• Support the LVTA at events, especially to assist with the organisation and running of the events, manning the sales stall or taking photographs for the magazine, news sheet and website
• Let the LVTA know of other events known of that may be of interest to members
• Notify the Vehicle Registrar when historic taxicabs change ownership

Annual subscriptions are:

• UK: £25, Rest of World (excluding N. America and mainland Europe) £32, plus £5 joining fee, renewable in April each year. Anyone taking UK or Rest of the World membership after September 30 in any given year shall pay half the annual subscription plus the £5 joining fee.
  
• Dutch Section, covering mainland European countries €39,50 and a joining fee of €7,50. (Further payment details are given in our Applications form(s) a/o updates in www.londontaxi.web-log.nl).
• American Section: $55, plus one-off joining fee of $10 ($28 plus $10 joining fee if joining after July 1)
