Carry on Cabby Run

Celebrating the wonderful comedy film of 1963, starring Sid James and Hattie Jacques, the LVTA’s ‘Carry on Cabby’ Run tours the film’s locations in and around Windsor. In 2019’s inaugural event, 15 cabs took part, including Austin LL DYH 310, the original “PEG 1” from the film and were joined by a Wolseley 6/80 police car, to represent the police chase at the climax of the film.

2020’s event starts at the Toby Inn at Old Windsor for breakfast, with a photo shoot in the Great Park, a run around the town to the various film locations, then to Windsor Farm Shop for afternoon tea. Instead of tea at the farm shop, there is possibility of us finishing at Pinewood Studios, where the film was made, to see the actual film in their viewing cinema. More on this later.
